Family Trip to the Beach

At the end of last month, we loaded up our crew, Greg's sister included, and headed out to Gulf Shores for a few days.  The weather was perfect.  Tropical storm Debby had made the weather a little cooler (90's), but it was bright and sun shinny the whole time we were at the beach.  The girls slept together in the same bed for the first time ever.  They did remarkably well minus a little fighting over the sheet!  Liza ran a high fever (due to a virus) almost our whole vacation, but Tylenol made the fussy little girl cheerful again.

The girls LOVED the beach.  They played in the sand, alot.  Liza loved the ocean.  We strapped her life jacket on, and she rode the waves, mostly with her daddy, for a couple of hours!  Izzie did not like the ocean so much.... ok, not at all.  We made her get in a couple of times, but we quickly relented after her screams of terror lingered.  The highlight of our second day at the beach was eating sandy sandwiches and chasing the seagulls down the way.

We took a day and rode down to Fort Morgan.   Greg was very interested, but we girls didn't deal well with sweat!  And boy, did we sweat!   We did get some cute (sweaty) pictures, though.

We very much enjoyed having Aunt Meridith with us.   The girls really love her, and we do too!  Liza discovered that Mer was her new favorite person, and she clung to her the whole time.
