Strolling Along

This morning while we took a stroll I snapped a picture of the girls in the stroller. Two things came to mind #1 How big they've gotten. Izzie weighs 39lbs, and Liza weighs 27lbs. They are quite a load to push!
#2 Just how different they are. Izzie was making up songs and letting Belle "fly" while Liza quietly held"Big Baby" securely, both arms wrapped around her waist.
I can hardly wait to see what the Lord has planned for our family in this upcoming year!

Liza's first ride on her first bicycle

We went to the school track so Liza could learn to ride her new bike. Let's just say it went from bad to worse. Lots of tears. Lots of frustration, and then she steared into the football field, fell off her bike and into the mud. Oh, and it's 37 degrees outside. We'll try again tomorrow.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was wonderful this year!  Izzie started the day about 7:20 as she bursts into the room exclaiming, "Mom, I got to tear off the wast wink (last link!)  We did a Christmas chain counting down to Jesus' birthday, and she knew that today was the day!  I got Liza and Greg up, and we went into the dining room with the presents.  Izzie immediately identified the bicycle and assumed it was hers.  Upon further inspection of the name tag, she said, "Liza, You got a new bicycle!"  The girls opened their 3 gifts each and couldn't have been more excited.  Then, Izzie tore off the last link, and we all went into the kitchen to finish decorating Jesus' birthday cake.  Next we held a birthday party in honor of Jesus and ate our chocolate cake for breakfast!  The girls played with their toys until Grammy, Papaw, and Aunt Mer arrived.  We had a wonderful lunch and a great visit then a well-deserved nap!

Christmas Story

Tonight while daddy worked on the Christmas lights, Izzie and I made a chalk telling of the Christmas story.

Sayings From my 4 year old

Izzie says the most unique things.  Most of her sayings are silly little girl-isms.  But sometimes, there is so much wisdom in what she says.  A few nights ago I asked her, "Izzie, why do we love God?"  She replied, "  Because he pick me flowers, and I wait for him."
Wow!   On one hand, this makes no sense at all, but on the other hand, it makes total sense.  God loves us so much.  He courts us with his love ie.  "picking flowers."  And like the expectant bride (the church) we wait on him to come and take us home.
Thank you, Izzie for showing me my Creator's love for me!

Shoe Boxes

When I was in college, I used to take great joy in making the shoe box that the Baptist Student Union would send to Samaritan's Purser, and eventually, to a special child in an impoverished nation.  This year, I got to share this experience with my own 2 little girls.  Tonight Izzie prayed for the little girl who would receive her box.  So special.

Duct Tape fund raiser.

My band kids raffled off a 4 Wheeler. What better reward for an 11 or 12 year old than taping your band director to a pole while eating an ice cream sandwich and drinking a soda?

Trunk or Treating

Cake-Walk, Face-painting, bobbing for apples, jumping in the jump house, eating pizza, and trunk or treating.  Yeah, we had lots of fun tonight.  We absolutely LOVE our church family!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

I was very blessed to get to go with Izzie's pre-k class to the pumpkin patch today! Because I drove, Liza got to go, too. The girls had the best time. Snacks, hayride, pumpkins, playground, chickens, corn maze, and lunch at Mc Donalds. It truly was a great trip. I'm glad I got to be part of it!
