Does it get any better?

Does it get any better than watching Veggie Tales while eating Cherios and sipping milk on a sleepy Saturday?

Trip to Brookhaven

Saturday we loaded up the crew and went to see my parents. Admittedly, a 5 hour round trip with a 15 month old is not very fun, but we enjoyed seeing my Mom, Dad, and Mamaw. When we arrived, my Mom had prepared a GREAT meal: pork roast and gravy, creamed corn, butter beans, FRIED okra, rice, and corn bread. I was in Heaven, as was Greg. We managed to get Izzie to eat 1 butter bean, a little creamed corn, 3 pieces of sliced cheese, and 2 Ritz crackers!

My Mom and Mamaw had together bought Liza 15 outfits!!!! They are sooo cute! My favorite is a little smocked dress that Liza will come home from the hospital in!

We also picked up a toy box, a changing table for Liza, a rocking chair for her room and an antique high chair that was mine at my Mamaw's from the time I am remember. Very special!

Been Gone For a While

Well, I have been a pretty bad blogger here lately. It's not that I don't want to blog or take pictures, but I have been so tired that I don't do much of anything except go to work, go to the bathroom and go to bed. I've gotten into the habit of snapping pictures with my cell phone, which is pretty cool considering that it has a 5 megapixel camera on it, but I am spoiled to my Cannon Rebel. I don't like to post pictures unless they are pretty good, and I can edit them.

Family update:

Izzie is getting sooo big! She is currently cutting her 3rd molar. (Ouch!) She has become much more attached to me and Greg here lately. She is becoming quite the daddy's girl (see picture above), and she loves her purple blankie. She is absolutely the love of our lives!

Greg is doing well. He is enjoying work this semester. Right now, he is enjoying the Wii! He is ready for this yucky winter weather to move out so he can spend more time outside.

I am doing pretty good. Like I said earlier, I am pretty tired and sore. Liza rides real low, so I have had much more back pain than I had with Izzie. She's worth it, of course. We should be meeting her in 30 days unless I go into labor before. Pretty soon I will start turning over my bands to the other guys at work so that it is not such a shock for the kids when I leave. I think I have hit the nesting stage. Greg put together Liza's crib, and I have bought her a couple of outfits so far. Her diaper bag is at the store being monogrammed. Ready to hold princess #2!

Happy New Year 2010

As I sit here tonight, looking forward to the year ahead of me, I can't help but look back at the year that has just pasted. 2009 has had its share of trouble for our family. Izzie has been a sick little girl. She started her first antibiotic on 1/3/09 for an ear infection. 16 antibiotics and 2 surgeries later, we venture into 2010. Greg has also been sick with his sinuses that ended up in surgery. I have had all the aches and pains that come with pregnancy as well as some weird tachycardia issues. All this to say that our year has not been easy.

Well, it wouldn't have been easy if we had carried all of this burden on our own. God has been GOOD to us. He has blessed us beyond measure. He has guarded us, provided for us and loved us through every season in this past year. He has blessed us with Liza, who should be here on February 16th if everything goes as scheduled. He has blessed us financially. He has given us friends who love us and wonderful jobs. We are very thankful for our church family.

Many times I look at what our world is becoming and grieve heavily. Crime is on the rise. The economy is in a recession, corruption in the government, there are rumors of teacher cuts.... the list goes on and on. I am so glad that I do not have to worry about these things or any other things. Jesus loves me and my family and will continue to take care of us forever. That's exciting. I hope all of you have a wonderful and blessed 2010!

FYI: The little girl in the picture went for her 15 month check up yesterday. The doctor referred to her as "perfect!" 90th percentile in height, 50th percentile in length, and 75th percentile in head size. 32 inches tall and 23 1/2 pounds. Full of energy and following with love!
Thanks, Aunt Trishie for the cute outfit!
