Chicken Pox and Swine Flu

Just for a little update in our lives... This week I found out that I have been exposed to the swine flu but was not notified by our administration at school. That is pretty darn scary considering that 15% of pregnant women who get it die from the swine flu.Needless to say, I hit the roof when I found out from another teacher. I happened to be at the OB the day I found out. She started me on Tamiflu as a preventative measure and promised that I could get the vaccine next month.

When I got home from the OB Wednesday night, I found a few, what looked like insect bites on Izzie. Well not insect bites but the chicken pox. Crazy.... 6 more weeks and she would have gotten a vaccination for the chicken pox. Oh well. Tonight's count was 147. That's a whole lot considering that she is only 30" long and weighs just over 21 pounds. She is handling it like a champ, though, and so far, the fever has stayed away. I hope it stays like this. I stayed home from tonight's football game to help G take care of her. I'm so proud of how she is doing so far.

At the Fair

We recently went to the local fair in my home town. It was a pretty big day for Izzie. She rode the swings, carousel, and the train! She wasn't scared a bit and really enjoyed herself. We can't wait for next year's fair!
The carousel.
