16 1/2 Months Apart

That's right. We are expecting, again! Our expected due date is February 18, 2010, but since I will be having another elective C-section, the baby will come about a week early.
"Do you want a boy or a girl?" Well, it really doesn't matter to either Greg or me. We just pray that the baby is healthy and his/her life will bring glory to God. If the baby is a boy, well, good. If the baby is a girl, we have everything. It actually offends me when I hear, "oh I hope it is a boy." God is the only one who gets to decide, and his decision is always best.
"Where you guys trying, or was it an accident?" I don't believe that the conception of any child is an accident. God has a plan for every child even before conception. Greg and I have been ready to have another baby since Izzie was born. We love parenthood. Since it took us a while to get pregnant with Izzie, We started trying right away.
So far, this pregnancy has been completely different from my first. The major difference is the reactions we have received to our "good" news. Everyone was excited as could be when we got pregnant the first time, but everyone thinks we are out of our minds this time. I have gotten reactions like "You are crazy," "What were you thinking?" and, my favorite... "You stupid bitch."
Needless to say, I have been pretty emotional and sad the last couple of weeks. NOT because I am pregnant. I want this baby. I feel extra blessed that God has allowed Greg and I to create life again. I am proud that Izzie will have a sibling close in age. I am not concerned about 2 kids in diapers/daycare at the same time. God will provide. He always provides.
We are only 6 weeks along, so we have a while to sort out the details. Those of you who read my blog, if you have any advice or have been in a similar situation, please feel free to leave a comment.

9 Months Old

Izzie turned 9 months old on Thursday. She keeps me moving almost every second of every day, and I love her to pieces. At her 9 month check up, she was in the 80th percentile for weight and off the chart for height. G and I got into a little trouble because she still doesn't like to eat.... anything. The doc told us that she HAS to eat, whether she likes it or not. So, nowadays I feel like the bad guy as I shove sweet potatoes into my screaming 9 month old's mouth. We have started putting her in her bed at nap time instead of trying to get her to sleep and then putting her down. It works (some of the time) I am learning alot about this tough love stuff. I feel like she is on the verge of walking. She pulls up on everything, and wants to hold your hands so that she can walk. She has learned the meaning of "no no," even though she can't mind all of the time. She is getting so big that I have to pass her off to her daddy alot. I just can't hold her for long. She makes all kinds of noises, but I think her first word is "uh oh". Dadadada has been coming for a while, but there is no association linked with it. She is such a joy, and we are so very blessed to be her parents.

First Time at the Imagination Fun Station

We took Izzie to the Imagination Fun Station at our local park. She crawled through a long tube and slide down a slide twice. She absolutely hated the slide! After we left the fun station we went for a stroller ride/nap around the park.

Strawberry Shortcake

Here is Strawberry Shortcake Izzie

We picked this dress up at the Carter's Outlet while we were on vacation. Yes, it did look adorable for $12 hanging on the rack, but... Oh My! She looks so darn delicious in this dress that I could eat her up! Have a great week!

Late Night in the Front Yard

Izzie loves to play outside, especially at night when she can watch the cars go by. We played in the front yard for about 20 minutes on Monday night, and she had a blast. She pushed her stroller, crawled on the grass, and crawled up the front porch steps for the first time. At one point during a sprint across the yard, I saw her flinch for a moment, but she resumed her crawling at lightning speed. It was only after we began eating supper did Greg realize that she had been bitten by a horse fly. Holy Moly.... those hurt, and she didn't even cry.
