Happy 10 Months

Izzie turned 10 months old last weekend. She is, well, incredible, at least to me and her daddy. Her eating is improving, but we are finding that she would much rather feed herself than have you feed her. She sleeps through the night like a champ! She talks up a storm. A few words we can recognize are Dadda, Momma, Bobba (bottle), and uh oh. Her top 4 teeth are almost all the way in, and she took her first steps last week. Like I said incredible!
She's come a long way, baby!

Please Pray for Stellan

Please pray for little Stellan McKinny. Stellan is an 8 month old who lives in the Mid-West. Stellan is in heart failure right now. He has suffered from a condition known as SVT since before he was born. It appeared that he was born healthy, but Stellan began to suffer from SVT again at 4 months. He is not well, at all, and it seems that only the Great Physician will be able to intervene in his current situation. Visit his moms blog here.

Check This Out

Look what Izzie has been up to lately. We are proud to announce that she has taken her first steps! These aren't them, of course, but we filmed shortly after. Unfortunately, she hasn't walked since, as she has been battling strep throat since the weekend.

Casualty of Band Camp

Last night I got up about 2:00 am to go to the restroom. (not that you needed to know that.) And I heard the dogs go crazy. I thought, in my sleepy subconscious, "I bet some band kid is rolling my yard." Then I went back to bed. I woke this morning to see that I was right! Oh well. I'm a band director, during band camp, with 162 happy souls that can come any night and decorate my yard. We are just a casualty of band camp.

100th Post

I can't think of anything better to put on my 100th post than many pictures of my favorite babe. Most of these pics are from a photo shoot in the princess' room Monday night.

Wow! Look at these cool chips that used to be in the can!

Play time with daddy.

Love my puppy.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me Monday, a blog carival created by MckMama. A place where you can confess your mothering weaknesses without shame. To play along, click this button.

This weak I did not begrudgingly trudge back to work. I did not endure ridicule at the hands of my co workers with comments such as "We don't care if you have kids, but you should go work somewhere else while you have them." and "We don't think you should get paid your supplement while you are on maternity leave. We should get it instead." I did not skip work Tuesday nor did I stay barricaded in my office Wednesday until, when forced to speak, cry a bucket of 1st trimester tears while my male counterpart bowed his head in shame.

I did not invite my SIL to our house but warn her that it was a mess that I didn't have time to clean. I certainly did not tell her that "she was always welcome in my filth!"

I did not guilt my DH for drinking the last Nehi Peach drink. I didn't tell him that because there were no other options, he forced me to drink the baby's juice.

I did not pack apple sauce in my daughter's diaper bag when we went out to dinner with G's friends because she likes apple sauce above all other foods, and we would have a better chance of looking like good parents if she was to eat without a fight.

I did not confess to my Pastor's wife that I only made it to church once in June, but that I promise to do much better in July.

I didn't feel bad that this happened to my daughter b/c her bumper was in the washer.I certainly did not take a picture of this before I gently freed her.

So, what did you not do?
