5 Months Old

Guess who's 5 months old today... Izzie! Time flies when you're having fun. I can't believe that it was 5 months ago today that our lives went from being 2 to 3. They say that having a baby changes everything, and let me tell you, it certainly does. Our lives don't even resemble the ones we had 5 months ago. She is changing more and more everyday.

Changes this month include:

She has gone from taking a 4 ounce bottle to an 8 ounce bottle.
She has started eating solid foods- rice cereal and pears to be exact.
She touches G and me on the face (melt my heart!)
She has a fascination with her toes.
She is almost pulling up into a sitting position, but can't keep her balance once there.
She loves to play with her ears.
It is becoming more apparent that she will probably be a lefty.
She "studies" objects in her hand.
She is starting to teethe.
She babbles-alot!

Check out how much she has changed!

CAT

We have been battling bladder infections with my cat, Rambaldi. Rambaldi is my little fur-baby. He absolutely adores me, but he has been peeing everywhere but in the litter box for about a month. Needless to say, he has been relegated to the bathroom. He has been to the vet 3 times to help this infection.

Today, we got to the bottom of the problem. He is giving himself these infections. He is mad at me (I had a baby; thus, he is not the baby anymore.) To get back at me he is holding his urine then peeing on the floor when I come around. OMG how bizzare. We are going to try to correct the problem with an antibiotic and some kitty Zanex. Wish us him luck before he becomes an outside kitty.

Valentines Weekend

My hubby surprised me this weekend. When I got home from work on Friday he insisted that we exchange Valentines gifts. I figured he just wanted his since he knew what he was getting. He opened up his gift and then gave me the sweetest package.

When I saw all the adorable things he had written on the package, I grabbed my camera so that I could take a picture and post on my blog.

I opened the package to find a new SD card for my camera. How sweet. I have really been getting into photography lately. This was soooo thoughtful of him.

We were in the bedroom sitting on our unmade bed. He said "Did you notice the box under the sheets?" "Why no." So I peeled through the sheets to find this.

OMG! I have been wanting this camera, but it is sooo expensive. He sneaked money out of our savings account to buy it. Wow, I love this man of mine.

The camera takes some awesome pictures.

Ear Infection Queen

Yup, that's right. We are on our 3rd ear infection since January 3rd. Our insurance deductible is almost met (Whoopee!) Bless her heart. Daycare has really pulled a number on her. She has had a cold since the second week in December. Not to mention the RSV. The colds are causing the ear infections. I though breastfed babies were supposed to be healthier??? Oh well, maybe by the time she gets to kindergarten she will has super immunities!

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This week I did not obsess over taking pictures of our life.

I did not reach for the camera when my DH screamed because the princess had grabbed his chest hair!

I did not think my princess was the cutest thing in the whole wide world as she was laying on our hotel room bed.

She certainly did not pee on the bed as her daddy was trying to change her diaper (hope they change the linens every time!)

I did not laugh when I saw this!

I did not resort to feeding my child in the bath because, well, it's just easier.

So... What did you not do?

This Week

This past week Izzie went to the doctor for her 4 month check up. She weighed in at 13.5 lbs and was 26" long! She is in the 50th percentile for her head size and weight, and in the 95th percentile for her length. She is developing right on schedule, and the doctor gave us the go-ahead to start eating rice cereal. As you can tell from the picture above, Izzie prefers the bottle over the spoon! We are working on learning to eat solids, but so far it has been a trying process.
Both G and I have been working on feeding her. G even modeled how to eat cereal.

Izzie has gained a new fasination with mirrors this week.

We have also learned that she can be a little TV head if given the chance.
